Days 60 through 80

Hi... More catching up to do! I'm going to get caught up to today!
Day 80: Today on our lunch walk, we spotted a homeless person's home in a sparsely wooded area very near our buildings. It was so sad, we really don't see many homeless people while we're out and about, but this lean-to type shelter was clear evidence that homelessness is very real in KC.

Day 79: My great friend Melissa came to visit from Philly for the week and I got to meet her new daughter for the first time! She's such a sweetie! I took the opportunity to snap a picture right before my friend had to wake her to get in the carseat to leave. She's a good baby.

Day 78: More signs of spring- leaf buds on trees around downtown KC! I love our walks during lunch!

Day 77: I went out with my parents to the new Mexican resturant in town. It was great food, but it looks like they're reassessing their menu from the sharpie marker cross-outs... We tried to hide our chuckles from the waitress! But I couldn't resist making this my picture of the day.

Day 76: This is a statue that Keith's mom gave me in honor of our wedding. I love it. It's so pretty and meaningful. It'll go somewhere special in our future home.

Day 75: Ha, on the way back from Lawrence from hanging out with Allison, she pulled over the car so that I could take a picture of this guy! He makes me smile.

Day 74: This weather has been so crazy, at the Legends they had the waterfalls going while it was warm, but then it got cold so quickly that these poor dinos at T-Rex Cafe were encased with ice. It was an amusing sight.

Day 73: Spring is here! We saw three robins on our walk around downtown! Makes me happy.

Day 72: Work breakfast. I made breakfast pockets (basically homemade hotpockets). They were easy and freeze well, so that they can be warmed up in the microwave for a quick breakfast.

Day 71: Heck yeah! I won our monthly pricing game at work. Whoever wins gets lunch bought for them. I chose Taqueria on Southwest Blvd. It was so yummy!

Day 70: My sweetie, Calvin. He's such a great dog. He's getting so old, poor guy. He's been a part of our household for such a long time, I'm going to miss him so much when I move out!

Day 69: Cooking class. The theme was Asian Dinner and this photo is of the dessert
- chocolate covered fortune cookies. Yummy.

Day 68: This is a music box (well, it doesn't open like a box, but it makes music... what is that called? a music maker?) that my grandma on my dad's side gave me when I was young. Such sweet little puppies.

Day 67: A day of choosing wedding rental pieces in Shawnee. But there were some spring flowers waiting outside of our front door for me to photograph! Signs of spring!

Day 66: Wedding invites! They're printed... finally! I love them!

Day 65: Memories... We took a trip with friends from Minnesota to Florida during my senior year of high school. It was a lot of fun. We relaxed and hung out. It was wonderful. One of the ladies from the trip gave me a candle from the sand from the beach that our resort was on. So sweet!

Day 64: This sunset caught my eye on the way home from work. God is a talented artist.

Day 63: Monday. This is snow left over from Saturday's snowfall. On Wednesday it was 70 degrees! How crazy is weather in the MidWest?

Day 62: Shopping trip! I hit CVS and Walgreens and grabbed up the monthly freebies. I'm addicted.

Day 61: I finished up my bridesmaid's jewelry. I love the charms- it says "love". I thought that was perfect for a wedding. :)

Day 60: Mom and I made a practice batch of Mexican Wedding Cookies that we want to whip up for the wedding in June. They were SO YUMMY! This is a recipe that we got from a friend from church.

Days 46 to 59

Hi all! I've got exactly one month of catching up to do, so I'm going to get started! I'm not going to get to all of it tonight, but I'll do some more soon!

Day 46: Valentine's Day! My last one without Keith! He was playing baseball in TX on Valentine's Day, but I was happy because he had sent flowers to my office! So sweet. These our our kitties- I thought that the picture was appropriate since they love each other! :) So sweet basking in the sunlight.

Day 47:
My brother Adam and his girlfriend celebrated the day of love on Sunday- today's picture is of her card to him and his "scavenger hunt of love" for her. They are so sweet together. They just fit.

Day 48:
I'm starting to take photos of the things in my life that are meaningful to me. This is the first of several.
My grandma gave me quite a bit of her jewelry as she was getting sick and then I received more after she passed away last year. These earrings were part of that group of items she gave me. They are so simple, but so lovely and they remind me of her.

Day 49:
My mom and I went to a friend's house tonight to talk about wedding stuff. The friend of ours is going to be our wedding photographer- I'm so happy about that! She did my senior pictures for high school and we were really pleased with how they turned out. She's been doing lots of photo shoots since then and she's really great! This is her youngest daughter checking out my laptop. She's such a cutie!

Day 50: The beautiful engagement ring that Keith gave me. The wedding is getting so close!!

Day 51: Just my bookshelf. Lots of books that I would love to have time to read or re-read.

Day 52: Adam was nominated for Courtwarming King at his high school. Since he didn't get crowned, some of his friends made him a tin foil crown to wear. They also gave him a sword... that was a little confusing. But it made him happy. :)

Day 53: Lots and lots of glass. I worked on cleaning and counting glasswear for most of my Saturday, but I'm so glad that I did. All the vases and candle holders are now bright and shiny- ready to go! I still have more to pick up at thrift stores, but I think that we are saving a considerable amount of cash by buying the reception glasswear at garage sales (I'm hoping there will be sales soon as the weather is warming up!) and thrift stores! I'm happy with the mix and match style as we're going with a causal garden theme. I think it will look great!

Day 54: I have a clock collection- this is one. I'll show the whole thing in one picture sometime. Keith thinks I'm crazy. :)

Day 55: I love our public library! I could spend so much time there. I
drove by the new library site today- they are getting really far on it! It looks great! I can't wait to see it open up.

Day 56: Dentist appointment. Very exciting stuff.

Day 57: Another special item- a silver necklace that Keith gave me for our one and a half year anniversary. :) We really don't celebrate our dating anniversaries, but it had been quite a while since we had a chance to see each other, so we made an occasion of it! It was great fun. I wear this necklace almost daily.

Day 58: The favor boxes for the wedding. We're putting lemon drops in them!

Day 59: Snow day! I still had to do some errands, so I was out and about, but it was a cold one. Our weather has been so varied lately, but I guess the Midwest is particularly known for that!
